About me

  • Hi, my name is Mia Goddard, and I’m a business student at the University of Missouri with a focus in marketing and communications. I’m pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Through internships and hands-on coursework, I’ve developed experience in digital content creation, email marketing, and visual design using tools like Canva, Mailchimp, and Shopify. Originally from O’Fallon, Missouri, and now going to school in Columbia, I’m driven by a passion for storytelling, community engagement, and creating meaningful connections through strategic communication.

  • In the spring of 2025, I completed the Global Career Accelerator, earning certifications in Digital Marketing and SEO. I also earned badges in digital Ads, E-commerce and Intercultural skills. This program gave me valuable insights into leadership, problem-solving, and the importance of global perspectives. As part of this experience, I also learned digital marketing strategies and built a website, which strengthened my skills in communication, design, and innovation.

  • I’m passionate about using digital marketing and storytelling to connect people with meaningful experiences. I enjoy creating content that feels thoughtful, clear, and intentional—whether that’s through visual design, email campaigns, or written communication.

I value creativity that’s grounded in strategy and enjoy staying organized while working collaboratively with others. I’m especially drawn to work that supports community engagement, youth development, and mission-driven organizations, and I’m most motivated by projects where thoughtful communication helps stories connect with the right audience and make a real impact.

  • I currently intern at the State Historical Society of Missouri (SHSMO), where I design thank-you cards using Canva, support event planning and on-site coordination, and contribute to initiatives that connect history with community engagement. In this experience, I’ve built hands-on skills in digital and print marketing, donor and email communications through Mailchimp, event coordination, and creative design while collaborating with a team dedicated to preserving and sharing Missouri’s stories.
